・最上鼻道とは、鼻腔の外側壁で、最上鼻甲介と上鼻甲介の間にできる鼻道のことである。最上鼻甲介がみられる場合にだけ存在する。
・「異常：上鼻甲介の後方に、しばしば不明瞭な骨隆起が見られることがあり、これを最上鼻甲介といい、上鼻甲介との間に最上鼻道を作る。」（日本人体解剖学「篩骨」）
・上鼻甲介の後部が上下に2つに分かれるとき、その上方の部分を最上鼻甲介という（船戸和弥のHP）。最上鼻甲介は上鼻道の後上方にみられ、さらにその後上方には蝶篩陥凹がある。

The supreme nasal concha or highest nasal concha is a nasal concha that occurs in some cases. It is shaped like a seashell and found on the posterosuperior part of the lateral nasal wall. It lies on the medial surface of the labyrinth of ethmoid above the superior nasal concha. The space below and the fissure lateral to the concha are known as the supreme nasal meatus.
